I am weak in vocab and want to effectivEly clear CLAT 2019 any suggestions
Hi,
There is as such no fixed way to improve your vocab. However, you can follow a few things.
- Come across new words and their usage. But, this is a continuous process and one should get into the habit of doing this.
- We can also develop our vocabulary by mugging up (by heart) word lists which are available at various sources. But, it entirely depends on the retention power of an individual whether he is able to remember those words during the exam time or not!
- Improve your reading and writing skills. Work on your accuracy and speed.
- Watch the news in English or maybe programs in English. Try to fetch the way they speak and usage of words.
Some of the recommended books are:
- Universal's LLB Entrance Guide.
- The Pearson guide to the CLAT.
- Lexis Nexis CLAT study kit and CLAT Guide.
- CLAT and LLB Entrance exam by Bhardwaj.
Good Luck!
Hey.
Vocabulary is something that you can improve upon at any time, you just have to be consistent and dedicated.
First of all you should start reading the newspaper daily. Focus on the editorial part of the newspaper to improve upon your Vocabulary. It will not only improve your vocabulary, but you will simultaneously develop a reading habit and improve your knowledge of Current affairs which is very important for clearing CLAT.
If you want to refer some books for this purpose you can use the Word power made easy by Norman Lewis.
Other than this take a look at the previous year and sample papers to understand the level of the CLAT examination and practice accordingly.
Best of luck!
