Yes it is applicable for drop year aspirants too, the eligibility criteria for JEE mains also includes that the candidate has to score a minimum of 75% in his/her 12th, and for SC/ST/PwD criteria the aggregate marks are a minimum of 65% to get a seat in NIT/IIIT/GFITs. Hence if you qualify 12th with 75% under the open category, the same is applicable for a drip year student too.

According to JEE 2021 notification, The pass class 12th with a minimum of 75% criteria (65% for SC/ST candidates) is only for getting admission into NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. This criteria will be applicable to you even if you take a drop.

Yes it is mandatory for the aspirants to pass class 12th board examination to be eligible for giving JEE Board examination.It is generally 50% of marks and 75% is needed for admission in certain engineering colleges.If you are dropping one year then your previous year's board marks would be taken into consideration.
