I took bio-maths in my +2 .could I take B.com for my higher study
Hello, Reshma.
Yes, off course, you have the option to do B.Com although you have taken Science or Arts in Class 12th. I have seen many people who were from Science Stream but now pursuing Commerce courses like B.com, BBA, BBM, CA, CS, etc.
There are numerous career options after completing B.Com some of them which I am going to you share with you.
See first of all what you want to do depends upon you because there is no limitation of jobs and scopes in B.com. You ask from yourself that what are your dreams.
1. The first option I want to speak about is to go for further higher studies after pursuing B.com. B,com is a very low level course if we say in India. Because after doing BCom you can't get a nice job with a nice salary so you will have to to get some higher degrees to get better jobs and placements. . You can do MBA , Mcom , CA , CS. , CMA and many others.
2. The the highest and most preferred course is doing CA or Chartered Accountant. This is a professional course. There are three stages and this the first is foundation, 2nd intermediate, and the final level. But if you complete your B.com you will directly go to intermediate level. The course is a bit tough to crack but will give you a very good earning in future and a secure life.
2. M.com (masters of commerce)- If you have completed B.Com then for sure you can do the higher level m com. after doing this you get more chances of getting jobs in companies with a good package and facilities. TSC , Infosys, genpact , WNS global service and other companies hire Mcom students for their companies as employees.
3. CMA (Certified Management Accountant):
If you want to join big MNCs and work in India's top companies then this is a higher level course to get you achieve your dreams. The MNCs and big firms hire CMA for higher positions and the salary and facilities are far better. In this course student has to clear two exams., and is also required to get 2 years of work experience.
4. MBA (Masters in Business Administration).
There will be must a person in the family who will suggest you to do MBA. This is true that you can get a very nice career after doing MBA but it depends upon the institute from which you complete your MBA.if you do it from IIM then the success will come to your doorstep but if you are doing from a very low level of institute then you will have to face so much difficulty in getting job. The first step for MBA is CAT (common admission test) this exam determines your admission in in all top colleges.
5. If you are not interested in doing higher studies and want to do job directly after you complete your Bcom then you have you few options which can give you better results the first one as teaching. Teaching profession is getting so much popular due to the increase in number of students in all fields only you will have to to get depth knowledge in subjects. Also you can learn auditing taxation so that you can do audit of some business and earn some remuneration.
Also you can do CFA, CPA , FRM , ACCA, BAT and many others .
I hope so this article would have to you and may you success in your life. All the best.
Hi Reshma Nancy,
I hope you are doing well!
Well if you have taken both Biology as well as Mathematics for your +2 then you can go for not only B.Com but you can go for other professionals courses. As you have taken science this is the major benefit you will be getting in your higher studies.
I hope that will be a answer of your question.
