If i drop a subject in btech and have degree ...is there any effect on gate exam .?

Sorry to say but you can not drop any of the subject in BTech to get eligible in GATE exam. This will highly effect it.

Yes there is an effect. You have to entirely clear the graduation in all subjects not even one subject should be left or having arrear.
