The exam is computer-based, i.e., pen-paper mode and is of three hour duration. Total number of questions are 25 for each subject, i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Maths , where 20 questions are object-type and the other five are numericals. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong question. The paper is 300 marks.
Now lets see the list of important topics:
For Physics:
- Magnetics (maximum questions in the paper)
- Optics– (Relatively easy)
- Modern Physics-This is one of the most popular and relevant topics for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Applicants must also discuss in depth sub-topics such as radioactive substance decay, nuclear fission and fusion, dual existence of matter andx-rays.
- Electromagnetic Induction and AC-Digital (for numericals)
- Oscillation and Waves (in-depth study is required)
- Electrostatics (According to the trend, four questions are asked every year)
