Nope! Intermediate Statistics will not be sufficient enough for Data Science. A good level of knowledge in Discrete Mathematics and Mathematics in general is important for a Data Scientist along with a UG Statistics atleast. Although in todays world, BTech CSE and MSc Statistics plays an important role in most of the data science agencies. Thus if you want to go for Data Science and study it from your UG then you can go for BTech CSE with specialization in Data Science, BSc Data Science from IIT MADRAS (online degree program), BSc Statistics (Hons), BSc(Hons.) Mathematics with Computer Science and Statistic as Generic Elective. This can really shape your career if you can pursue MSc Statistics, MStat from ISI, MSc Data Science, MSc Mathematical Statistics etc after your BSc.
