Is there any age limit for the post graduate course of Community Medicine? Also, can B.Pharm graduates from open schools pursue this course?
Hello Aspirant,
Community medicine as a program opted for as a specialisation at the PG level.
You cannot study M.D in community medicine (Doctor of Medicine in Community Medicine) but surely can opt for a PG diploma in community medicine.
There is no particular undergraduate degree for community medicine but one requirement is to finish his/her MBBS before going for this specialisation.
Access to postgraduate courses needs a total of 50% in M.B.B.S. for general category students.
For the reserved category, the percentage required is 40% at the undergraduate level i.e. M.B.B.S.
For entry into a postgraduate diploma in community medicine, an individual requirements to have finished their graduation in M.B.B.S., BDS, Bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, health sciences, physiotherapy, natural life sciences or social science or any comparable examination with 50% or more score.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
