All those candidates who have qualified JEE Mains or both JEE Mains and Advanced and have 75% or more (for general ) in their 10+2 board examinations, can appear for JoSAA counseling. No other examination can lead a student to sit for JoSAA counseling. Through JEE Mains' rank, you are eligible to get NITs, IIITs or GFTIs, and through Advanced rank, IIT seats are available.

JEE Main Counselling – JoSAA Eligibility Criteria: Paper I (B.Tech)- Candidates should have secured above the cutoff rank in JEE Main 2019 Paper I, i.e., B.Tech..
- Candidates should have qualified 12thstandard (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject.
- For admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, the general category candidates should have scored 75% and OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD candidates should have secured 65%.
