1)Difficulty of the mode of the examination
Pros of online over offline
a.If you are a computer literate , it will save you some time from bubbling or marking OMR. (15 minutes can give lot of head start)
b.You can change your answer at any moment of time .
c. You can see all your answers,no of questions marked .
d. you can see the time remaining , no need to ask the invigilator .
e.They will give you unlimited no of rough sheets :P
f.A/C in summer
g. a college equipped with a computer lab is allotted to you, better chance of getting a good centre ( I got a LKG classroom with tiny tini benches for my boards)
Cons
a.
If you don’t practice , it will be consuming , you might panic .
while you have been writing on paper exams for ages
b.You’l keep wavering and won’t confirm some answers , once you’ve marked that question in offline , you dont need to think about it again.
2)
Difficulty of level of examination
this purely depends on your luck .
I have read some answers below that on line paper will be tough .
But one thing I don’t like even if online paper is tougher by chance , they dont normalize the marks , just take the average *Facepalm* .
I will just give you the trends .
2013
I was in 11th . All my seniors gave on line , the paper they gave ( 9th) was very easy compared to offline.
Highest in our campus , a whooping 330
2014
following the trend I gave online .
I gave it on the 2nd day , as it was considered a auspicious day *facepalm* .
The paper was very tough compared to off line and other papers according to the Internet and my whole college . I could have scored 50 more marks if I gave the 9th paper .
But the average cut off was mostly decided on offline as 70% people gave offline .
2015
I gave offline this time . Both papers were comparable this time .
P.S :- people also say offline physics is tougher than online .
Surely, offline because:
a) You get more time during submission- even if that's a second, it counts a lot during that time. With online-mode, your paper gets submitted on time and there's no escaping!
b) Looking at the hard copy will put a lesser strain on your eyes and trust me you wouldn't want to get a headache like I did during my VITEE.
The only reason why I think one should opt for online instead of offline-mode is, changing of the answers. Yes, it's possible lest way easier, but no you actually don't get time to change!
That's personal preference. It depends on your comfort level with computers as well. I know, you must be thinking, everybody knows how to do basic things on computers now so that point is redundant, but it's not the case.
For example, i have a friend who prefers studying through ebooks, while i love the books, and papers. And that does play a role while you're sitting their on the d-day for three hours. Every second counts, so you better be comfortable with the format.
I can safely say that most of the people are more comfortable with the pen and paper concept, as that's the way we practice during our preparation as well. So if you don't have a set preference, go for the same.
Offline is way better than online. You can quickly see the questions that you know and skip through the ones that you don’t. Thus, I feel that attempting the paper in offline mode is better than attempting it in online mode.
Hello Ajaydas,
Both Methods have equal importance. If you are comfortable with pen and paper then go for offline mode.If you can sit in front of the computer for 3 hours then choose online exam.
Also You can change your answers any time in online exam.Plus one week extra time for the preparation too.
So choose accordingly
All the best
