NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
Hey Seema,
So you are preparing for NEET. One thing you need to keep in your mind is that NEET preparations is all about practice and practice because you get very less amount of time to answer 180 questions.
As far as Physics is concerned, as long as your are clear with the concept and the basis of a chapter, the only thing you need to do is practice the question. As I am guessing you are in class 12 which means you are a foundation student and you have a upper hand because the base concept is very fresh in your mind. I would recommend the following books for practice as well as theoretical study.
For theoretical preparation as well as for boards you can study from-
1. Physics from Pradeep publications- The writing is very simple and the writer repeats a concept several times for better understanding.
2. D.C Pandey's physics book- The concept is quick and easy to comprehend. The level of questions is also good.
3. NCERT- Always read NCERT for base and then use other books to understand the concept and as reference. Never leave NCERT.
For practical preparations and question practice you can opt for-
1. Universal Self Scorer for Physics- This book is a must for NEET preparations because it gives you numerous quality questions for practice starting from easy to difficult ones, covering every minute topic from a single chapter. The questions are way more in number which will give you hand on great experience and idea of solving questions.
2. D.C Pandey's physics- The questions in this book is also really good because this book is used mainly by JEE aspirants because of which you get to practice some tougher questions which can help you get proper ranking in NEET merit list.
Now as far as chemistry is concerned, practice and rememberance both is required together.
For theory and board preparations you can consult the following books-
1. NCERT- This book is a must for chemistry. Most of the inorganic and organic questions come directly from the book, so make sure you revise the whole book on a regular basis while using other books for reference.
2. Morrison and Boyd- This book is for organic but need not to be studied completely and can be used to understand the reaction mechanism and other concepts of organic.
3. O.P Tandon- This is a great book for Physical chemistry and can be used as a reference with NCERT.
For objective practice-
1. Universal Self scorer- This book is a must for objective practice and should never be left out.
2. Dinesh Publication- The quality of questions in this book is also great and you get to practice a little less questions that universal but authentic questions.
Always remember that studying from a lot of books is never good. Always try to stick to 2-3 books, two for theory and one for objective, because it's better to completely finish 2-3 books than to study incompletely 5-6 books.
And always make one book your base book and the other one your reference book and then just one for the objective questions. This way you will be able to practice more and will be able to give your full concentration and potential.
I hope you do well and achieve what you want.
All the best!
greetings seema,
there are various helpful books for neet preparation,
for physics you may refer:
1. Concepts of physics by HC Verma
2. objective physics by DC Pandey
3. fundamentals of physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker.
4.Fundamentals of physics by Pradeep
5.problems in general physics by IE Irodov
for chemistry you can refer,
1.physical chemistry by OP Tondon
2. NCERT books for 11th and 12th
3.Concise inorganic chemistry by JD Lee
4.Dinesh Chemistry Guide
5. Practise books by VK Jaiswal (Inorganic), MS Chauhan (Organic) and N Awasthi (Physical).
go ahead and select your choice.
all the best!
Dear candidate,
For physics neet, you should refer HC Verma. For practising the questions you can use Errorless. Make sure you read and solve and get thorough with NCERT too, both for 11 and 12. Mechanics of DC Pandey will also help you strengthen your mechanics.
For Chemistry neet, read inorganic chapters from NCERT thoroughly. For solving questions about the same, go for NCERT at your fingertips. For Organic Chemistry, read and learn all the reactions from NCERT. Make a chart for the same too. For solving the same, you can go for DK Singh. For physical Chemistry, try solving MTG publications.
Along with it, solve previous year question papers. Make sure you keep revising organic chemistry.
wish you all the luck!
