NTSE Stage 1 syllabus is set by SCERT of a particular state. However, NTSE stage 2 syllabus is released by NCERT.
In both stages, the syllabus and difficulty level was different. Students are suggested to refer NCERT or State Board class 10th syllabus for NTSE preparation.

NTSE exam is conducted at two levels: state level and Nationa level by SCERT and NCERT respectively. NCERT or SCERT does not prescribe the syllabus of NTSE. But the questions in NTSE exam are asked on the basis of NCERT syllabus of class 9 and 10. In the exams of both stages, comprise the questions from the NTSE syllabus . NCERT or SCERT does not release any syllabus for both the stages of NTSE. The question paper is based on the topics from class 9. There will be two papers namely MAT and SAT. MAT is mental ability test which would ask questions based on quantitative aptitude, reasoning, logic, patterns etc. While SAT is scholastic ability test which would ask questions from maths, science and social science. Heyy ansh , The NCERT does not release any official syllabus for the exam. The question paper is divided into 2 sections named MAT ( Mental Ability Test ) and SAT ( Scholastic Aptitude Test ).
