JEE main is a national level entrance exam for admission in B.tech/B.Arch/B.Planning in IITs/NITs/IIITs.There are few state private colleges which accepts JEE main score.Candidates qualifying in JEE main will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.JEE main is has objective type and numerical type question.For objective type question 4 marks will be given for each correct answer for an incorrect answer 1 marks will be deducted.For numerical based questions there is no negative mark for an incorrect answer.Each of Maths, Physics and Chemistry has 25 questions out of which 5 are numerical based and 20 are objective type.Maximum marks are 300 and exam duration is 3 hours.You need to have sound knowledge of each concept to solve the questions. Whereas Intermediate is a qualifying exam and to get admission in any UG course you must have passed 10+2.It is has theory and practicals exams for which you need to study.Here we may predict what kind of questions will be asked in the exam.The syllabus which you study in intermediate helps you with JEE main preparation.What changes is the kind of questions asked and exam pattern.
