What would be the selection proces after u clear CAT?
In this aggregate score generally most of the colleges has CAT marks as the highest weightage. Through this merit list based on a certain ratio (Like seats/no. of students called :: 1:3 / 1:5) top students are called for second round of interview and WSAT.
After going through this second round again a new merit list is made based on new aggregate score in which interview and WSAT marks are also included. Generally interview and WSAT marks with CAT marks have the highest weightage in final list. Noe based on this merit list too students are offered admission. Rest of the students are given a waiting list.
If a top student rejects the admission then a studentwith waiting list 1 will be offered admission in the college. Procedure goes on in the same way until all.the seats of the college are occupied or the number of students in their merit list ends.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
Your chances of final conversion depends on various parameters. Even getting a 100 percentile cannot ensure your selection in any of the IIMs. You need to appear for the WAT and PI process and excel there as well. It also depends on your academics and work experience and there are points for gender and academic diversity. CAT score is about 30-40% of your total score for the final selection. Hence give your best in CAT and then prepare for interviews and ace it. All the best!
