What is the Full Form of SOF?

Exams Conducted By SOF Every Year

  • National Science Olympiad (NSO):- The Science Olympiad Foundation hosts the National Science Olympiad (NSO) each year. The Foundation wants to inspire students to develop a scientific mindset. It is a non-profit educational organisation that encourages students' intellectual development through contests and olympiads.

  • International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO):- The International Mathematical Olympiad is a mathematics competition that is organised by the Science Olympiad Foundation. The SOF IMO is a test that evaluates students' mathematical aptitude and knowledge. Students who participate in the IMO have the opportunity to have their knowledge of the subject and their problem-solving skills evaluated at the school, local, zonal, and international levels.

  • International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO):- The International General Knowledge Olympiad, also known as the IGKO, is a knowledge-based contest that assesses competitors' capacity to respond to inquiries of varying complexity and scope. By engaging, students can improve their capacity to spot patterns and recognise the information.

  • International Commerce Olympiad (ICO):- The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a statutory organisation created by a Parliamentary Act and run by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is working with the SOF ICO to host it. Participants in the SOF ICO must be in grades 11 and 12.

  • National Cyber Olympiad (NCO):- Through cyber education, the National Cyber Olympiad, or NCO, aims to raise information security on a global scale. The SOF Olympiad Registration

Registration for students: Students in grades 11 and 12 may participate in the SOF Olympiad. Through their schools, students should register. A school must sign up at least 5 people for the SOF Olympiad.

Any school may sign up to become a SOF ICO Level 1 centre, as principals and instructors should be aware of. The institution is not required to pay any fees to become an approved testing centre.

The SOF Eligibility

The eligibility for the SOF Olympiad is different for each test

  • For NCO and NGKO, the student from classes 1-10 is eligible.

  • For NSO, IMO, and IEO every student from class 1-12 are eligible.

  • For ICO only the students of class 11-12 are eligible.

The SOF Exam Pattern

In all exams administered by SOF, there will be 60 minutes to complete 50 multiple-choice questions for grades 5–12 and 35 multiple-choice questions for grades 1-4.

While IMO, NSO, and IEO have two levels of testing, ICO, NCO, and IGKO only have a single level of testing.

Awards For SOF exams

The awards are given in two level one is at international level and another at zonal level

Awards at the international level -

  • A total of 12 first-rankers will receive INR 50,000 each, a gold medal, and a certificate of exceptional achievement.

  • All 12-second rank winners will receive INR 25,000 each, a silver medal, and a certificate of exceptional performance.

  • 12 third-rank holders will get INR 10,000 apiece, a bronze medal, and a certificate of exceptional performance.

Awards at the Zonal level -

  • A gold medal, a certificate of zonal excellence, and INR 5,000 will all be given to the 312 first-rank holders

  • A total of INR 2,500, a silver medal, and a certificate of zonal excellence will be given to the 312 second-rank holders.

  • 312 third-rank holders in total will get INR 1,000, a bronze medal, and a certificate of zonal excellence.
