Telangana State

It is a state situated in the Southern part of India. It is the eleventh largest state and twelfth most populated state in India. It was bordered by Chhattisgarh to the northeast, Andhra Pradesh to the west, Maharashtra to the north, Karnataka to the east. Telangana state consists of dense forests covering an area of 27,292 square kilometers. The major cities of Telangana are Warangal, Siddipet, Nizamabad, Khammam, Karimnagar and Ramagundam. The state of Telangana was divided into 33 districts in the year 2019.

History of Telangana State

In ancient days, Telangana was ruled by many major powers such as Mauryans, Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Cholas, Rashtrakutas, etc. During the 16th and 17th century, it was ruled by the Mughal empire and during the 18th century it was ruled by Nizam. In 1823, Nizam lost control over coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema and handed it over to the East India Company. In 1948, Telangana joined the Union of India after the police action. In 1956, Telangana was merged with the Andhra state to form a new state known as Andhra Pradesh. After many decades of protests and agitations, the central government decided to divide Andhra Pradesh into 2 separate states and the union cabinet cleared the bill for the creation of Telangana. According to social economic, culture and historical entities it has a history of more than two thousand five hundred years and more.
