Course Overview

Swayam is a programme launched by the Government of India whose aim is to provide education to bridge the digital gap among the youth of India. They have courses in various nine categories, covering all sectors for students across India. Their courses are free of cost. Candidates only need to pay for the certification.

One such course they offer is biomass characterization. Biomass feedstock has huge anticipation. It recognizes the demands of growing energy and minimizes the use of fossil fuels which increases global warming.

This course sheds light on various resources of biomass available to us and how sustainable they are for future generations. They cover various topics under this course such as biomass as a resource, forms of biomass, it properties and much more. They mainly teach you techniques using which you can biomass food stock into different forms of energy using their lectures and videos.

The instructor for this course is Prof. (Dr.) K. Arunkumar, who is head and professor in the department of plant science, University of Kerala. Has many books, research papers, and other achievements under his name. It is a 15 weeks course at the level of a postgraduate, belonging to the category of biological sciences and bioengineering.
