Have a question related to CUSAT Kochi ?

If I got low ranks in cusat exam or nata exam....can i have admission in these colleges on the basis of my marks in 12th.... I got 96.6% in 12th

Hello Student,

Admission to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) generally depends on entrance exam performance, not just 12th-grade marks.

1. CUSAT : Admission to CUSAT's undergraduate programs is primarily through the CUSAT CAT entrance exam. However, for some courses (like certain non-professional or vocational programs), your 12th-grade marks might play a role in the selection process. In professional programs like B.Tech, your CUSAT CAT rank is the main criterion.

2. NATA: For architecture programs, NATA scores are crucial for admission. While your 12th-grade percentage matters (you need at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Math), the NATA score is the key factor in determining your admission to architecture programs.

If your entrance exam scores are low, the chances of admission into competitive programs may decrease, but some institutions might have management quota seats where 12th-grade marks can be considered more significantly. It's best to check with the specific college for their admission policies.

Thankyou.

I am an oec student... and i got my cusat cat result... I got 17440 rank in exam what should I do next.. am I eligible to study in cochin university

Hello Aspirant

A rank of 17440 in CUSAT CAT might not be high enough for the most popular courses or categories. However, it's essential to consider the following factors:

  • Your Category: If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), your chances of securing admission improve significantly due to the reservation system.
  • Choice of Course: Some courses might have lower cutoffs than others.
  • Previous Year Cutoffs: Analyzing previous year cutoffs can give you a better idea of your chances.

Because you belong to the OEC category, you might have a shot at a decent college, but you need to mention the college that you wish to get admitted to so that we can see their eligibility and admission procedure

Hope this helps

Hello Aspirant

CUSAT CAT is specifically designed for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). While it's not the same as the national-level CAT exam for MBA, the preparation strategy can be similar in many aspects.

Before diving into preparation, it's crucial to understand the exam pattern. CUSAT CAT typically includes sections on:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Strengthen Your Maths:

  • Build on your BSc Math foundation.
  • Practice calculus, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry extensively.
  • Solve previous year's question papers to understand the difficulty level.

Cover Physics and Chemistry Basics:

  • Refer to NCERT textbooks for a strong foundation.
  • Focus on key concepts and formulas.
  • Practice numerical problems.

Time Management and Accuracy:

  • Develop a strategy to allocate time effectively for each section.
  • Practice mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.

Understand the Exam Pattern:

  • Familiarize yourself with the question types and marking scheme.
  • Identify your strengths and weaknesses.

You should start by analysing the previous year's question papers and seeing what the pattern and make your study plan accordingly.

Hope this helps
