About Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh
Desh Bhagat University is a state private university unestablished in year 2013 which is situated in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. Situated on a 35 acres DBU has 145 courses comprising 34 degrees that reached a student population of 4,631 enrolments. The university has the strength of 515 faculties and it is an NAAC accredited institution. DBU is UGC, INC and PCI recognised that provides extensive specialisation areas in for example Engineering, Management, Law, Nursing and Ayurveda. The student population in the campus is 69% undergraduate and 31% postgraduate and 58% students from out station making it a more national university.
Desh Bhagat University offers a range of services for student support. There are well furnished hostels separately for boys and girls which are connected with Wi-Fi facilities. Book shelves and reading rooms serve knowledge enhancing activities, while spacious gymnasium, having provisions of badminton hall, boxing mud, footballa and spacious playgrounds for cricket are helpful in the over all over development of the student. Most of the campus facilities and services offered in the university are made possible by an efficient and reliable information technology. A multi cuisine cafeteria, medical facility on the campus and a nearby convenience store fulfills student requirements. Further, it has transport facility considering a radius of 60-65 km for commute to and fro allowing day scholars.
Thus, the university hosts a number of courses and programmes in its relatively short life: 145 courses available at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level. This show the willingness of the university to provide the diverse opportunities of education by providing a variety of the specialised courses offered in various disciplines.
