Gujarat Maritime University is a UGC recognised state private university situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and was established in 2017. This specialised institution is devoted to the teaching of maritime law and international trade law. Located on the GNLU Campus, Attalika Avenue Knowledge Corridor, Koba, GMU was established under the UGC (University Grants Commission). Despite its youth, the university is already beginning to deliver quality education and focus in specific areas of law. GMU has a variety of services that supplements student lifestyle and academic needs.
The library of GMU is also open throughout the day and night making sure students have all day and night access to literature. The college offers a total of 4 courses. GMU offers two LLM programmes: LLM Maritime Law and LLM International Trade Law, with 30 intakes for each programme. Also, for its Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes, the same specialisation options are also available. Such programmes are intended to address the increasing need for distinct legal skills in maritime and international business areas.
