Course Overview

Building on the SIR Model is an online certification course aimed at providing students with the fundamental concept of the SIR Model. The online course requires students to perform deterministic modelling and delve into the many cases of epidemics, among others. The certification course is offered by Coursera which is a part of the Infectious Disease Modelling Specialization.

The Building on the SIR Model training covers the evaluation of the assumptions behind the Ross MacDonald model to simulate the dynamics of a vector-borne disease. Through this online certification course, students will be able to practise how to build and work on the stochastic and SIR models. The online course teaches students how to critically evaluate a modelling study and analyse its strengths and weaknesses. With this online certification course, students will also gain insightful knowledge related to infectious diseases and thus will focus on the SIR Model to build their healthcare project.
