To enrol in the Managing Innovation Swayam postgraduate course, one must be a graduate. Since this is a management studies programme, it is more favourable to management graduates.
Moreover, to be eligible for the completion certificate, the candidate has to take a computer-based exam at the allotted examination centre. The final certificate will only be awarded to those students who score at least 40 per cent in both the final assessment and weekly assignments.

Step 1 – Click the link below and head over to the official page of the programme on Swayam’s website.
Step 2 – Login if you have a Swayam account and enrol in the course. If you do not have a Swayam account yet, go to the top of the page header and click on the ‘Sign-in/Register’ button.
Step 3 – On the account creation page, you can log in using your existing Microsoft, Facebook or Google accounts.
Step 4 – You will receive a verification email on your email address. Verify your account and follow the on-screen instructions to submit details and enrol in the Managing Innovation Swayam programme.
For joining the Managing Innovation course on Swayam, candidates must submit their personal contact information including name, email ID, and contact number. Alternatively, they can use their Google, Microsoft, or Facebook account to sign up. Once done, they can verify their account and start learning.
The students wanting to obtain the certificate of completion are required to appear for an exam at the end of the Managing Innovation training certification course. It will be a computer-based assessment, held at an allotted exam centre.
The student should possess the hall ticket and an approved government Photo Identification card (for example- Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport License, Passport with name, DOB, photograph, and signature) for final verification and take the exam in person.
Hall tickets will have all the details regarding the exam centre allotted to the student. Questions asked in the examination may include filling in the blanks, multiple-choice questions, and more. The questions will be on the computer screens, and answers will be entered in the input fields prescribed.
The final certificate has the following weightage: -
75% of the final test + 25% of the per-week assignment
Candidates must score a minimum of 40% in the course-end exam as well as a 40% average in the weekly assessments to qualify for the online Managing Innovation training course certificate. Scoring less in any of the two will prevent the learners from getting the certification.
The course is curated and presented by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB). There are two instructors for the course. First is Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, who is an expert in strategy and innovation with over 140 publications spanning outlets including case studies, books, chapters, popular press, and refereed journals.
The second instructor is Prof. Vinay Dabholkar. He works as a catalyst in mindfulness, a culture of innovation, and design thinking. He has experience of more than a decade, helping companies in their innovation journeys. Both the instructors have co-authored the book together called “8 steps to motivation: from Jugaad to Excellence”.
As this is a postgraduate level course, candidates need to have their graduation completed.
Candidates need to pass a computer-based exam to receive the certificate of completion. The final certificate will only be provided to the students who score at least 40 percent marks in the final exam as well as in the weekly assignment.
There is 75 percent weightage for the final exam plus 25 percent weightage for the weekly assignment.
