#our college has all needy infrastructure like good roads, health centres, water availability, etc., # we have many libraries , different classrooms for different branches, labs, and many grounds for sports and also for indoor sports(SAC), and also there is wifi facility in hostels and all are well maintained. #The living spaces are clean there are many sweepers and the food is sometimes not so hygienic.
# I am studying in metallurgy department which is one of the oldest branch. It deals with the properties of materials which is useful in future. The quality of teaching is very good and teachers help us with doubts. # Most of the people knows that IIT curriculum is one of the best which prepares us for job and our curriculum gets updated sometimes.
# The placements for many branches are really very good and most of the students try for non-core placements. # From our branch 75% of students are getting placements and overall placements are nearly 79% and the highest package is received by a CSE student of 1.68 CPA #The average salary offered was 25 LPA and for our branch it is 20LPA.
# The total fee per year is 1,08,000 rupees for hostel and tuition. # The hostel food is somewhat dissatisfied but comparatively everything is fine. The teachers are also helpful most of the times. So it feels worthy.
# The campus is really very huge which is 1300 acres and the campus is very good for exploring, the worst is that it is open campus so it feels like heavy traffic. Students can engage in sports mostly because we have many events. # staff and teachers are mostly available upto 5 p.m and they will be in their respective offices. The campus is somewhat unsafe for girls. Yes we can give complaints to the police members in emergencies
IIT BHU during my time had all the basic amenities in hostel. We had access to centralized AC library which had access to internet enabled computers. The Sports Ground was just in front of my hostel, which I liked the most.
Professors are top notch in terms of their knowledge, however, they may not be giving their best in teaching since they are more involved in research Work. If student approaches them for anything, professors would surely help in academics.
IIT BHU offers one of the best placements in India, I myself had bagged a job of around 10 LPA during my time in 2014. Most my batch was placed by the end of Feb, 2014. But one needs to be serious in their studies, only then college can help you get good placements.
During my time, fees was very less since it was IT BHU at that time, but now they have increased fee since it is an IIT now. Despite all of this, an IIT tag will help in the long run, and the fee charged by IIT BHU is reasonable depending upon what they provide in return,
Just one word Awesome, I changed myself completely during my 4 years spent at IIT BHU. I participated in Technex Fest, made some awesome friends. And those ghats of River Ganga, the peace that one can find there, it is possible only at IIT BHU, Varanasi.
Overall it was a good experience. Would love to spend the same time again if it is possible by travelling back in time.
After clearing IIT JEE examination I was allotted IIT BHU. When I finally went to the campus for physical registration, ALL MY EXPECTATIONS OF AN IIT WERE DEEPLY HURT. The campus gave the vibe of a poorly managed government college. The infrastructure of the Lecture Theatres and the departmental buildings is really old and not very attractive. The hostels(except those which are newly constructed) are having really poor infrastructure and are not maintained properly. IIT BHU has an open campus due to which in spite of having a green campus it does not appear to be clean and healthy. Throughout the campus there is only one color combination of RED+CREAM. No other color is used in painting the buildings of this college which ultimately makes the campus very boring.
IIT BHU has one of the strongest coding cultures in India. It is known for it's high placements every academic year. The students who come here are very talented and have a keen interest in upskilling themselves. Hence, they work really hard to maintain a good CPI throughout their semesters until they graduate. There is a very strong competition between students and they take the academic activities very seriously.
In the academic year 2023-24 the highest package from IIT BHU went 1.68 crores through CSE branch which is enough to justify the placements in this college. The only reason why the IITians here adjust with the poor infrastructure of this college is it's placements. One of my seniors recently get placed at a cyber security company with a package of 91Lpa. The average package of my branch(mechanical) stood at 19Lpa which is quite higher than many colleges in India. The highest package from my branch went 54 Lpa which is indeed a large amount!!
In case you want a good college life like having a great campus, enjoying fests or exploring campus with friends then IIT BHU might disappoint you. The money you pay here for won't seem to be worth it if you want to only enjoy the college life. If you want to get good placements and an amazing life after graduation then IIT BHU is one of the best options you can choose after clearing JEE examination. The placement statistics at IIT BHU must be really very fascinating for the students.
The campus life is very average at IIT BHU. Since the infrastructure is old and not maintained well, the will to roam around the campus is not frequent. There are many fruit stalls in the campus which adds up to some of the facilities offered at IIT BHU. However the canteens in the hostels are really nice according to me because I seldom had a day in which I did'nt went to the canteen to have some snacks. The fast food stalls at IIT are not good and have limited items like samosa, kachori and chole. There is a lack of south-indian food inside the campus making it difficult for the south indian people to live here. There are many places to hang out with friends but those places are not that attractive. It's only your friend's company that can make one feel happy, since the infrastructure of the campus is not really appreciating.
My experience in the First year of my college was really fantastic(ignoring my academic performance). I was selected for the inter IIT dance competition which ultimately became one of my best memories in this college. The seniors were really very supportive in almost everything. Since we had an open campus , I was able to enjoy the ghats of Varanasi.
Infrastructure is a drawback in my opinion. Most of the buildings are very old. Lecture theatre are small compared to other IITs. Also no AC are there. It becomes almost impossible to sit in class during summer, due to hot tropical heat of Varanasi, little space to sit, and no AC. Library and Wi-Fi are good. Sports facilities are good and functional. A new sports centre was recently opened. Mess food is bad, but again no mess serves good enough food.
Teachers are very knowledgeable. They do teach well, but due to inefficient classrooms, very less classes see good attendance. Curriculum of some courses can be improved, but in general, all the proof try to inculcate new and interesting concepts. Labs give you a practical overview of the course. Exams on other hand are usually disappointing most of the questions come from previous papers .
IIT BHU's placement cell orchestrates diverse recruitment drives annually, attracting top companies from various sectors. Through pre-placement talks and rigorous preparation, students secure coveted roles in software engineering, core engineering finance and more. The institute boasts high placement rates, with many students receiving lucrative offers well before graduation. Additionally, some pursue higher studies or entrepreneurship.
Teachers are helpful
The rooms are actually good for first years but not as much as 2nd years. They provide two tables along with chair and bed cot and two cupboards. The meal is really good for North Indians and South India face some problem. We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Using JoSAA will register for college and after coming here should submit all the JoSAA forms to the hostel warden. I think so renting a room outside is not necessary. Hostel Fee : INR 30000 per year.
My Course curriculum of my Department was based on what faculty members knew and the areas they are working on. Doesn't matter if it matches with current industrial scenario or not, whether students get placed or not, and whether companies come or not. Everyone is busy increasing there publications. Class size is 78 and course fees is INR 55000 per year.
Placement of this Indian Institute of Technology is really good. Many multinational companies come here to recruit students with a very good package. The highest placement this year was 1.68 crores given to a student of B. Tech in Computer Science. And a large number of students from various branches get their jobs with high salaries.
Best option in Varanasi
the college infrastructure is excellent, providing essential facilities. three well-equipped ground and individual sports coaches enhance the sports facilities. classrooms, equipped with projectors, are well-maintained. the mess serves good quality food.
I am pursuing Master of Technology in alloy technology and the professors are supportive. the curriculum is regularly updated, incorporating recent developments. the college provides industry-level exposures through workshops and seminars, ensuring job readiness.
IIT BHU has excellent placements, with a high average package of 18.96 Lakhs in M.TECH. almost all students secured placements, and the highest package exceeded 1 crore. the process was smooth and supported by the college.
The course fee is 30k per year, totalling 60k for two years. while it may seem a bit high, the investment is justified by the excellent academics, strong alumni network, and promising placement opportunities, making it worthwhile in the long run.
the campus life at IIT BHU is outstanding, offering a wide range of activities from art and craft to sports. the students , seniors, and teachers, and support staff are helpful. located in the holy city on the bank of the Ganges, it is safe and efficiently handles emergencies.
IIT BHU is no words for explain
Yes my college have all necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment and the facilities which work provided to OS like laboratory library sports centres and have smart board in my classrooms which are well maintained and the campus is so clean and hygienic.
I am pursuing M-Tech of industrial management and I want to be a good engineer in future. And I also did diploma and BTech of mechanical engineering and the quality of teaching is so excellent and professional and the professors have command in their specific field.
The quality of placement at my college is good and the college is so supportive towards the placement office student of my college the average salary of Ford is approximately 10 lakh per annum and the average placement of a students is appoximately 65% which is good.
The cost of my course for a year is approximately 37500 which is value for money.
Campus life is so good and the environment is so favourable and healthy and staff is so supportive.
Overall experience is nice.
Very good college infratructure with lot of greenery and people from diverse culture . You even get canteen 24/7 available inside the college. BHU never sleep and that is true you feel safe all the time .
Good course structure but the main problem is the dogmatic approach shown by the teachers here . they depend too much on past information and methods of teaching but library is really good and helps u
With large companies visiting to the college placements are very good . Even the core branches land into very lucrative job profile here . With avg around 20lpa in core branches available here and that is good
With such a less fees and so much good placements the value for money increases substantially moreover the faculties provide a good alumini structure here and you can get benefit from them in later life
Greenery all around fresh air , a lot of intelligent people to talk to, different personalities available makes the campus life extremely good here ।Bhu has the best campus life in all pver india available
Great college to study
College infrastructure is good and you can get many facilities available here including different type of labs different books in the library and teachers are just pure class. their method of teahing is impeccable
Academic is good as you compete with the best minds here so you learn a lot if you are not satisfies with the explanation teachers are giving you can have seperate sessions with them to sharpen your knowledge about the subject
Placements are very good . currently i am earning 40lpa and when i got placed it was the medium salary for mechanical branch so you can see for yourself about the placements here and just be relaxed about this
College is very good in Return for money. You dont pay much but you get n number of faculties n number of books and very good placement opportunity what else you can ask for with such a low fees structure
Very good campus life with lot of engagement all around . we also have institute day once in a yea where student from different faculty combine to do some task that make us understand about them and broaden our spectrum
Great college to enroll in
As i am passed student i can assure you will not get any college better than IIT BHU all over india with so much of talent and nature you wiol not want to leave the college after graduation i can bet on that
Academically it is a little lagging behind but teachers are good you also get hands on experience on practical things which gives you additional knowledge apart from books and yes the library is humongous in this college
Currently i am working at 35LPA and i was an average student in the college so you can see for yourself that the placemen they offer is significantly better than other colleges across india in this fees
I literally paid 0rs and graduated i used to teach students with mere 1000 rs per month . The college provide you with acholarship for economically weaker student and you can take advantage of that facility
Friends here are still my friend . we dont talk regularly but the bond is still same . even we have few friends fr other faculty too . This is the beauty of BHU you can contact with other favulty students
Great college in everything
IIT BHU has four different for M. Pharmacy which are Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy so they declared cutoff ranks according to your marks for each category every year cutoff changes due to various factors. They called 7 times more number students for counseling than the total seat available there.some application also get rejected because of not having gpat score and lack of eligibility so they create chance for other candidates.
So,If You want to be on Safe side you should achieve atleast below 500 rank in GPAT.
Hi Saikat,
You may choose to do a Postdoctoral fellowship after you PhD from BHU. A number of universities abroad do look for researcher fellows for such programs.
You will have to do a thorough research of such opportunities yourself. A number of fellowship sites such as researchgate may come handy in this process.
All the best!
