The Remote Sensing: Principles and Applications program is a 12-week study in remote sensing (RS) technologies. IIT Bombay has curated this elective course which falls under the ‘Civil Engineering’ purview. Learners can access video lectures and references to study the program. Set at an undergraduate/postgraduate level of study, the learning topics include RS sensors, image acquisition, and microwave radiometry.
By completing the Remote Sensing: Principles and Applications certification syllabus, students will pick up concepts such as spectral reflectance curves, radiometry, electromagnetic radiation, RS data acquisition, LIDAR, and data portals. Learners can complete the previous module and start with new topics for the next module. Moreover, the curriculum also familiarises aspirants with the ‘image interpretation’ concept.
Students will be rewarded with the Remote Sensing: Principles and Applications certification after completing the course modules and securing adequate scores in their assignments and final examination. This certificate will mention the candidate’s name, picture, marks, and logos of IIT Bombay and NPTEL. Professor Eswar Rajasekaran from IIT Bombay mentors this AICTE-approved Faculty Development Program (FDP).
