The Biointerface Engineering training programme is an 8-week course curated by IIT Guwahati. It falls under the Bioengineering and Biological Sciences and Bioengineering category. Both undergraduate and postgraduate-level students can take the course, and they must either have or be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline. This elective programme is an AICTE approved FDP course.
The Biointerface Engineering online course aims to introduce a chemical approach to biomedical products and applications. Several vital topics in surface chemistry will be covered, like interactions with biomacromolecules and the role interfacial phenomena play in the behaviour of surface biomolecules. Professor Lalit M. Pandey, a reputed course instructor from IIT Guwahati, teaches the programme.
The Biointerface Engineering certificate programme is an online course. Plenty of video tutorials, study and reference material are available to the candidates completely free of cost. The candidates will have access to graded tests and assignments and can also sit for an end-term examination to get certified.

To be eligible for participating in the Biointerface Engineering certificate program, the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any engineering subject or discipline.
Furthermore, to qualify for the Biointerface Engineering certificate, the candidates must take the offline examination at the end of the term. In this certification exam, they must score at least 75% marks, that is, 30/75 and at least 10/25 in the internal assessments. The average internal assessment score is calculated by taking a 25% average of the six best-scored assignments out of the total 8.
Swayam will issue the e-certificate only if the candidate can meet the criteria mentioned above.

The candidates who want to enrol in the Biointerface Engineering training by Swayam do not need to fill out an application form. They can either join in by using their Microsoft, Google, or Facebook account or create an account in Swayam by entering a few personal details like Username, password, email ID, etc.
An exam for certification will be held at the end of the Biointerface Engineering online course. The exam will be taken offline and in the presence of a proctor. Swayam will announce the commencement of the exam registration and the candidates need to fill out the exam registration form and pay the fee to be eligible for the offline exam. The candidates must appear at the designated test center on the date of the exam, the details of which will be available on the exam registration form.
The candidates need to meet criteria individually to qualify for the e-certificate. They must score at least 10/25 in the internal assessments and at least 30/75 in the course-end examination to be eligible for certification. Swayam will not issue the certificate even if the candidate scores an overall 40/100 without meeting the two required criteria.
