Course Overview

The Corrosion Part-1 Certification course is an 8-week online program. The course syllabus is prepared and verified by IIT Kanpur even if Swayam is appointed to provide the course. This course certificate is presented by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and NPTEL.

Corrosion Part-1 training is a part of the Metallurgy and Material Science & Mining Engineering core curriculum. This certification course is taught by Kallol Mondal.

The principles of corrosion are emphasized in this course from the perspectives of thermodynamics, like its process at the interface, free energy, and electrochemical potential, and the kinetics of electrochemical processes, like activation, concentration, and resistance polarization; various types of corrosion associated with materials; mixed potential theory; and electrochemical methods of safeguarding metals and alloys.
