The Soft Nano Technology programme aims to introduce candidates to the patterning of thin films and the applications of Nano-patterned films and surfaces. Some basic concepts of surface tension and wetting will be discussed, besides Photo-lithography and nano-imprint lithography. Candidates will also learn about the Atomic force microscope, a crucial instrument used in nanotechnology research.
The Soft Nano Technology course is curated by IIT Kharagpur and is taught by Professor Rabibrata Mukerjee, an institute's eminent faculty. It is an elective programme, which can be completed in eight weeks. It is designed for UG and PG level students and can also be pursued by Ph.D. level students. Besides, candidates will be eligible for the Soft Nano Technology certificate only if they score at least 30/75 in the course-end examination (75% weightage) and have an average internal score of at least 10/25 (25% weightage). Step 2 – Register by selecting the “Sign-in/Register” tab.
Step 3 – If you do not have an account on Swayam, you can either sign-in using your Microsoft or Google ID or your Facebook social ID. Or you can create a new account in Swayam.
Step 4 – Create a new account, locate the “Send verification code” option and click on it to initiate a verification code to be sent to your registered email ID.
Step 5 – Enter the code to confirm your account and hit “Join” to complete enrollment.
Swayam does not have any dedicated application form for the Soft Nano Technology training programme. Candidates can just sign-in by providing their email ID, username and create a password or sign-in via their Google ID, Facebook account or Microsoft social ID.
If the candidate opts for certification, they must appear for a certification exam after completion of the Soft Nano Technology syllabus.
