Course Overview

What makes the Soil-Structure Interaction program unique and compelling is that it discusses the details of the soil structure models in more detail than in any undergraduate degree courses. The course will explore the models for a shallow foundation under various subgrade characteristics and loading conditions. The training receives industry support from civil engineering companies.

Candidates enrolling for the Soil-Structure Interaction certification will learn about elastic foundation problems on beams and plates and using FDP methods to understand different foundation models.  They will spend twelve weeks in this AICTE approved elective course in civil engineering and structural analysis.

Soil-Structure Interaction is an online course available on the Swayam learning platform. The syllabus is designed by professor Kousik Deb from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He will also be the educator of the course. Candidates can either audit the course for free or opt for a certification. There are assignments and an end-of-the-term examination that they will have to successfully complete.
