The BS degree in Electronic Systems at IIT Madras is a three-year undergraduate online programme. The IIT Madras Online BS in Electronic Systems has three levels - Foundation, Diploma and BS Degree. To earn the online BS Degree from IIT Madras, students have to complete all the levels. Each level encompasses courses, credits, and assessments, giving learners the flexibility to exit at any level. They can receive the certificate depending on the courses completed and credits earned. However, only those students are eligible to register for the online BS degree at IIT Madras who complete the first four semesters.

Eligibility Criteria
To pursue the IIT Madras Online BS Electronic Systems degree, aspiring candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Completion of the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as subjects of study.
- Students appearing for their Class 11 final exams with Physics and Mathematics as subjects of study can also apply for the programme and join the course after clearing Class 12.

Evaluation Process
Students of the IIT Madras Online BS Electronic Systems have to participate in three types of assessments - online weekly assignments, monthly in-person quizzes, and in-person end-term examination. The end-term exams are conducted in a number of cities across India. Apart from this, exams are also conducted in centres across different countries such as Singapore, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Sri Lanka. Students may also be required to participate in mini projects, programming exams, vivas, and take home assignments.

Anyone who has completed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics can apply for this online degree. Students who appeared for their Class 11 final exams can also apply and join the programme after passing Class 12.
There will be pre-recorded video lessons through which students can study. For doubt clearing sessions, there will be live sessions per course where students can interact with the course facilitator.
Students must have a laptop/ desktop with good internet connection to access the course materials.
After successfully completing all the levels, students will get the BS Degree in Electronic Systems. They will also have the option to exit earlier with a Foundation Level Certificate or Diploma.
