Course Overview

The Electron Diffraction and Imaging certification course is a 12-week duration programme. The certification course prerequisite is knowledge of basic optics and physics. This course offers an extensive curriculum that covers electron diffraction and imaging aspects such as symmetry in crystals, reciprocal space and electron microscope, different types of projections, and fundamentals of diffraction.

The students will also explore the contrast theory (kinematical and dynamical theory) and phase contrast microscopy after completing the Electron Diffraction and Imaging certification by NPTEL. They will also learn the basics of electron crystallography, computation of intensity of diffraction pattern, and a brief introduction to recent techniques in electron microscopy.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualifications

The students must have the knowledge of basic optics and physics to enroll for the Electron Diffraction and Imaging certification course.

Certification Qualifying Details

The candidates will get a certificate after completing the Electron Diffraction and Imaging online course.

What you will learn

The candidates gain in-depth knowledge of electron diffraction and imaging, crystal structure, and symmetry after completing the Electron Diffraction and Imaging certification syllabus. They will also learn about the different techniques used in microscopes, and how to interpret the results to get the best information of a particular sample.

The students explore the different types of projections, electron microscope and computation of intensity of diffraction patterns upon completion of the Electron Diffraction and Imaging training. The students with the support of leading industry experts will apply the learned techniques and principles in real-world projects. They will also get a revision at the end of the course.
