Course Overview

In the Language and mind certification course, the students will be learning about language under three broad perspectives. They will be studying about the ways of pairing the syntax and lexicon to formulate the languages. The candidates in the Language and mind certification syllabus will be dealing with the set of rules and the word formation structures and will also learn the ways to define them and formulate them to generate words in language. The eight week online certification course will be covering details pertaining to- Sounds, Features of sounds, Vowels/consonants, Places and manners of articulation, D structure, Binding theory, Constraints, Passive morphology and NP movement and other topics that are related directly or indirectly to language and mind. In the programme, the students will be familiarized with the relationship that exists between the human mind and language. The session will further be helping the students to understand the concept of langue as a special purpose with respect to cognitive ability.

Eligibility Criteria

Certification Qualification Details

To qualify for the e-certificate the students need to secure an  average assignment score that equals to  25% amongst the  average of the best six  assignments out of the total eight assignments  that has been provided to the students. The students also need to have an exam score of 75%  The appearing candidates will only be eligible for the Language and mind certification only if they are securing an assignment score of >=10/25 and final examination score of >= 30/75. To get the certificate  the students are required to fulfill the given 2  criteria or else they will not receive the certificate

Evaluation process

The final score obtained in the course is a sum of the marks obtained in the internal tests and the final-term proctored examination. The final-term proctored examination contributes 75 marks out of the final score of 100. Swayam announces the exam dates, designated venue, and other relevant information on their course portal.
Swayam conducts the test in two sessions, namely: morning and afternoon. A fixed fee is applicable for those sitting for the exam.

The Language and mind online course has been scheduled for a period of eight weeks.

No, the course is mandated as only for skill enhancement and academic knowledge therefore, there will be no placement assistance.

After the course completes the final examination schedule will be released on the website.

Yes, the Language and mind programme is structured as self learning and the video and lectures are all pre recorded.
