Please mention your home state. There are chances in your home state(the state from where you passed your class 12th from) because the cutoffs for home state candidates in relatively lower as compared for outside state candidates. So, if you are fortunate enough, you might as well land in the NIT of your choice but I am sorry to say that you have no chance for admission in top NITs and IIITs because the seats fill at 10000 max even for their home state candidates. So, I would recommend you to look for the branch of your interest now because if you are aiming to get CS, mechanical or ECE it would very difficult to take admission in NITs. So choose wisely!

Hi ! It seems that your rank is decent to get a 2nd tier IIIT or 3rd tier IIIT. Well, the IIIT which you may get are IIIT Kurnool, IIIT Kota, IIIT Kalyani and other few bad ones. So hope you understand and best of luck to you. Given below a link will be useful for you.

Hi ! It seems hard for you to get a government college like nit or IIIT or GFTI through Jossa counselling. They demand bit higher ranking. Your rank is not enough to get admission in these colleges. Both NIT Jaipur and NIT Bhopal are amongst tge top NITs in the country while at the same time IIIT Gwalior is also a very good IIIT with a large percentage of its faculty being Ph.D.s.Your choice will depend on the fact that whether you wish to give preference to branch or to college. Likewise choose where you wish to take admission. Hope this helps. 

Getting IT branch in the top NITs and IIITs with this rank will be diffocult for you as you belong to general category. However, if you are solely focused on IT branch then you can go for the newer NITs and IIITs where you might have a chance of getting a branch of your choice you can also try for the north-eastern NITs. In terms of coding culture IIIT Is the best as it as got the brand name Indian Institute .

Here they offer you with really high package.

It's not like NIT where students get admission into due to state quota .

So IIIT is best for CSE students !

The best of them include IIIT Trichy, Kanchipuram etc .
