Course Overview

Unlike other bioethics courses, The Ethics of Biomedicine online course is directed primarily towards students who have scientific biomedical training as their primary focus. Such students are most likely to end up in research and development, or at a biomedical laboratory. However, they also face ethical questions and dilemmas in their professional lives.

The Ethics of Biomedicine certification course targets those studying biomedicine, and not just disciplines that lead to a particular profession (like nurses, physicians, etc.). The reason behind that is that those engaged in the latter often have ethical codes that are specific to their specific line of work. Moreover, much of their training regarding ethics has to do with ethical problems that may arise in the course of their relationship with the patient as a healthcare professional.

Developed by the Karolinska Institutet, The Ethics of Biomedicine training is five weeks long, and learners need to engage only three to six hours a week. It is a self-paced programme consisting of video lectures with transcripts in English.

Step 2: Once you have gone through the details, and are ready to proceed, click on the ‘Enroll’ button.
