Course Overview

The EU and Human Rights certification course by edX discusses the EU’s potential to impact human rights, not just for its citizens, but also for people everywhere. Both positive and negative impacts have been discussed. You will also learn about the businesses, NGOs, or other international organisations (UN, Council of Europe, etc.) that the EU could engage with to promote human rights all over the world.

The EU and Human Rights certification syllabus will cover the policy sectors impacted by the EU. These sectors include development, social policy, migration, trade, and international crisis management. The objective is to help you understand how the EU, by itself, or in partnership with other local or global, state or non-state bodies, can uphold, protect, and promote human rights globally.
