Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs (MA, MSc), and doctoral programs are offered in various disciplines at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCBDU). The university selects applicants for its various programs based on a mix of entrance examinations and academic assessment, thus ensuring that good students are selected. The admission process may begin in August-September for the academic year. This generally includes the months of May and June for the application process. Depending on the program, MSCBDU accepts national-level entrance exams. Undergraduates are selected based on the respective entrance exam scores, while postgraduate programs include scores of GATE, JAM, and CAT, as well as the internal entrance tests to become eligible.

The eligibility criteria may vary from one program to another. Undergrads are, however, usually supposed to pass his/her 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% in the relevant subjects from others. Postgraduate will require a bachelor's degree, according to eligibility criteria, which usually requires a minimum percentage of 55 to 60, depending on the subject, from recognized universities thereafter. Different programs, especially at the postgraduate level, have an entrance exam conducted by MSCBDU. 

Application Process

The application process for MSCBDU varies depending on the program but generally follows these steps:

1. Visit the official MSCBDU website and navigate to the admissions section.

2. Choose the desired program and carefully read the eligibility criteria and admission requirements.

3. Register on the university's online application portal by providing basic details and creating a login ID and password.

4. Log in to the portal and fill out the application form with accurate personal and academic information.

5. Upload scanned copies of required documents, including photographs, signatures, and academic certificates.

6. Pay the application fee online through the available payment options.

7. Submit the completed application form and take a printout for future reference.

8. For programs requiring entrance exams, appear for the test on the scheduled date.

9. If shortlisted, attend the interview or counseling process as per the university's schedule.

10. Upon selection, complete the admission formalities by submitting original documents and paying the required fees.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: Admission to B.Tech programs in affiliated colleges may be based on state-level or national-level engineering entrance examinations as MSCBDU does not directly offer any B.Tech programs.

M.Tech: The university offers M.Tech programs in different specializations. Admissions are mainly GATE-based, followed by a written test and/or interview conducted by the university. Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field.

MBA: MBA programs are offered at the Department of Management Studies in MSCBDU. Admissions are based on CAT scores, followed by tests of written ability and personal interview, the final selection taking into consideration all aspects of a candidate's performance.

M.Sc: M.Sc programs in the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology are offered at MSCBDU. Admissions are based on JAM scores for admission into respective departments, or the university may conduct its entrance examination. Candidates with a B.Sc degree in the subject concerned can apply.

MA: MA programs are available in many subjects-Anna Economics, Political Science, History, and Odia. Admission is mostly awarded based on the university entrance examination followed by undergraduate marks.

PhD: The MSCBDU offers several disciplines for PhD programs. Based on the performance in a written test and/or interview conducted by the university, admission will be given to candidates who possess a Master's degree in the relevant field. Some departments may consider GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR scores for exemption from the written test.
