Hi Naveen,

Percentile is used to divide the population into groups i.e. if you have got 90 percentile then your score is better than 90% of the candidates. Since it based on the population so you could expect fluctuation in your rank when you compute it for Jan session compared to that of April session as number of candidates increase for the latter. That is why the qualifying cutoff for JEE advance is released after april. Since you had not mentioned the branch I'll be providing it for all:

  • Civil:9243
  • CSE:3444
  • ECE:5465
  • ME:7251
  • EEE:6432

Hi Shweta,

The cutoff for all the NITs and IITs for the year 2020 will only be available after April session exam. But from previous year cutoff you can infer it.

Since you have not mentioned any category so I am assuming it to be general. For Computer Science and Engineering the opening cutoff was 12921 and closing cutoff was 34667.

It differs from one NIT to another . But it is same as for General Candidates. The fees for NIT is nearly 70000 per semester. But it may vary .

There is also full fee reimbursement for candidates who have income less than 1 lakh per annum. And 2/3 fee reimbursement for candidates have income between 1-5 lakhs per annum.

Hello shweta,

Hope you are doing well!

No, NIT goa doesn't provide B.arch. They provide B.E/B.tech, M.E/M.Tech and ph.D.

Your rank can be predicted by using the formula, (100-your total percentile)*869010/100. In your case, your approximate rank would be 260616. Let's say the number of candidates for April exam increased to 12,00,000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 12,00,000/100. Regarding NIT Goa, you haven't mentioned your Category. Hello aspirant,

The HS quota for NIT Goa is as follows…

  1. 40% of seats are reserved for Candidates whose Home State (state in which they have given their Class XII exams) is Goa.
  2. 10% of seats are reserved for Candidates whose Home State is UTs of Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Lakshadweep.
  3. If any seat is left vacant from the 10% quota of UTs of Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Lakshadweep, it is given to the candidates belonging to Goa.
  • OS quota: OS stands for Other-State. The candidates whose home state is different from the one in which the institute is located comes under OS quota. The rest 50% seats are reserved for the OS quota.
  • GO quota: GO stands for Goa. GO quota can be understood as a sub-quota of the HS quota. The 40% seats reserved for Goa candidates comes under GO quota (only for Goa candidates) while the 10% seats reserved for the candidates of the UTs of Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Lakshadweep comes under HS quota (priority is given to the candidates of above-mentioned regions but Goa candidate can also take these seats if left vacant).

Hey Shresha C Korgaonkar,

To get yours doubts cleared, I would post the category cutoffs of National Institute of Technology, Goa now. The cutoffs are Home state cutoffs and don't seem going in favour with category ranks.
