Hello Aspirant,

It's quite difficult to predict  cut off marks for NIT colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors. With 130 marks your chance for NIT silchar in CSE branch  is  quite low even if you are from general ews .

For more information you can visit  JEE College Predictor

Thanks for connecting to careers360.

hii ,

considering you get 93 percentile in jee mains you will not get nit silchar , but for now you just focus on jee mains and not on what college you will get .

for more college use the jee mains college predictor link - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

Hi,

If you are from ASSAM state than your chances of getting admission in NIT silchar is sure. Branch may vary but you are able to get admission surely but if your home state is not ASSAM than chances are going to be less for NIT silchar. Actually chance of getting NIT seats depends upon various things and cutoffs for various branch.

Hope this helps.

All the best.

Hello Aspirant,

See if you select the float option after getting seat in NIT Silchar and then you go for further rounds of counselling then your seat allotted in NIT Silchar would not be cancelled instead it would be upgraded in further rounds as you opted for float option.

Float option is chosen by the candidate when he/she wants to upgrade their seat in any other institution as per the choices filled in JOSAA choice filling.

So don't worry your seat won't be cancelled before final round counselling of JOSAA.

For complete details about JOSAA counselling kindly check out the link given below :-

Hi

It's quite difficult to predict because cut off  depends upon various factors like

------------) number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

------------) kind of marks obtained by them ,

------------)  toughness level of the jee main examination

------------)  number of seats available etc

But yes,

As per 2020 cut off,

>>>>>>> with 18k ews  rank

Yes, you have chances for NIT silchar under Assam home state

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020,

----------) Under home  state, 19826 EWS  rank for gender neutral got  civil engineering in National Institute of Technology Silchar.

You also have chances for branches like

  • Electrical engineering

  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This prediction is on the past year data basis but  cut closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon factors like number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

Thank you

Hello,

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

You should consider NIT Durgapur over NIT Silchar

Still both the branches have wide exposure, do check your branch preference.

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Good luck, hope it helps!! (javascript%3A;)

Hello..

Basically You must have a preferred branch before choosing any college. But here you are confused between different branches. So sort out the branch first then go on with the college selection. This helps you out in opting the college more easily. My suggestion is to take either NIT Silchar or NIT Hamirpur. If you are interested in dual degree course then choose that or give a preference to 4 year computer science degree.

I am providing you the link where all the three colleges are compared, this helps you even more to select your college :

The hostel experience was nice, with timely breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the mobile network was very poor in the hostel room and sometimes lan did not work properly. classrooms are in pretty good condition in new gallery classroom. for civil laboratories, the equipment was not maintain properly.

I love the campus life more

College Infrastructure

We have proper Wi-Fi, labs are up to the mark and need improvement. Classroom are good and have proper functional A. C. We have regular labs going on. Library is quite good and books are there too. Quality of food has been improved. There are no medical facilities available in hostel you need to visit to the outer medical stores or hospital. There are not enough grounds for sports.

A beauty of assam
