UPES B.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked #42 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest CTC 50 LPA , 100% Placements
Hello,
Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference which will comprise of all these factors:
You should consider NIT Durgapur over NIT Silchar
Still both the branches have wide exposure, do check your branch preference.
I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.
Good luck, hope it helps!! (javascript%3A;)

Hello..
Basically You must have a preferred branch before choosing any college. But here you are confused between different branches. So sort out the branch first then go on with the college selection. This helps you out in opting the college more easily. My suggestion is to take either NIT Silchar or NIT Hamirpur. If you are interested in dual degree course then choose that or give a preference to 4 year computer science degree.
I am providing you the link where all the three colleges are compared, this helps you even more to select your college :

Hello aspirant,
I see you're looking for CSE and your options are pretty good too.
As per you rank for general category, you can also look for:
1] NIT Goa
2] NIT Delhi (For students from Delhi according to previous closing ranks)
3] NIT Hamirpur
Note : Closing ranks are for year 2020.
You can also look for more NITs with the following link:

Hello,
Both the NITs are one of the top colleges of engineering in our country.
Talking about the placements, NIT Allahabad Chemical Engineering placement record is 82% and highest salary offered is 17 LPA while avg salary is 8 LPA.(2020 official record ).NIT Silchar Electrical Engineering higher salary offered is 13-15 LPA.
Comparing between NIT Allahabad Chemical and NIT Silchar Electrical, you should decide in which branch you have interest and you want to peruse your career.
Advantage of Electrical Engineering is that you will have opportunities to work with PSUs, also you can opt for government exams of electrical field ( Indian Railways, Indian army etc.)
My opinion is that you should take this decision by deciding in which branch you can peruse your career. If you want to go for electrical branch then you can take admission in NIT Sirchal and if you are willing to choose college over branch then you can go for NIT Allahabad Chemical Engineering.
All the best!
hope this was helpful.

Hello Aspirants,
Hope you doing well, I would suggest you to go with NIT Silchar as going in NIT you would get many opportunities and a tag of NIT too and there the placement of Electronics are great they offer a decent package and in case of DTU they gives 75% placements on campus. But, for Biotechnology there are no core companies which visit the college. Only 2 or 3 companies visits like mankind pharma or Ranbaxy. So placements for biotechnology are not good in DTU
if you want to know which colleges are accepting your rank you can check it with the help of Jee College Predictor where you have to put your rank or marks and you will be shown a list of the colleges according to their ranking with their placement fees and everything and here you can make a wise decision to get into a good college so go for it and check it now here's the link

Hello,
National Institute Of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar or NITS) is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Silchar. The college has good placement records and the good news is that someone begged 41.86 LPA. The average salary package offered is 14 LPA for the CSE branch. Top recruiters are Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Arcesium, Oracle, Samsung, etc. About 70% of students get internships every year in different companies. College has all the basic facilities with best hostels, libraries among other things. There are two annual fests i.e cultural and one technical which is organised in college.
whereas IIT Guwahati, considered to be one of the scenic campuses in India has a residential and academic block with hostels, a sports complex, a central library, a research park, a mess, and much more amenities for students. This college also has the best placement record.
lastly in my perspective both these colleges are excellent and outstanding in every arena whether its placement or basic facilities. So you can choose either of them.
Hope this helps!!
Considering strong Placement scope, Faculty, Infrastructure and prospects in Projects and excellent employer and academic outlook, you preference should be
1. IIITM Gwalior
2. IIIT Lucknow CSE
3. IIIT Pune CSE
4. IIIT Bhubaneshwar CSE
5. IIIT Kancheepuram CSE
Incase you get IT, thats also as good as CSE at IIIT. Most of the above IIITs have strong Placements.

Hello aspirant,
Yes...... the gap certificate is required at the time of admission. When you will be applying for the Counselling, don't be so worried about these secondary documents. You can give Undertaking for those documents in the institute. Generally a 15 days time period is given to students and that can also be extended further. These colleges are government institutions and work like them.....
Hope this helps
All the best for your Future!
The hostel experience was nice, with timely breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the mobile network was very poor in the hostel room and sometimes lan did not work properly. classrooms are in pretty good condition in new gallery classroom. for civil laboratories, the equipment was not maintain properly.
We have proper Wi-Fi, labs are up to the mark and need improvement. Classroom are good and have proper functional A. C. We have regular labs going on. Library is quite good and books are there too. Quality of food has been improved. There are no medical facilities available in hostel you need to visit to the outer medical stores or hospital. There are not enough grounds for sports.
My college is having a very beautiful campus, it just looks very amazing. The hostel facilities when I was in the college were ok. Else the wifi is all over in the campus. Also their are labs in almost all the sems for electrical branch students.
