Hi there,
For admissions in NLU you need to give CLAT, there is no doubt that NLU are much more prestigious and offers more exposure but there are certain good private universities also who are now at par with NLU's doing llb from top 5 NLU's is much more better as compared to private universities, i have attached a list of best llb colleges in India for your reference, https://law.careers360.com/colleges/ranking
Hi there,
As per the recent notification for CLAT 2020 there is no upper age limit to appear for CLAT at UG and PG level, although NLU's have there separate eligibility criteria in regard upper age limit like NLSIU has upper age limit of 20 in case of general category for admission in UG programme, so I would suggest you to visit the website of the NLU for which you are aiming and check the eligibility criteria of the same, other necessary details in regard eligibility is given in the link below,

Dear aspirant. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that National Law University is considered to be one of the best university in India to study Law. It is a very challenging job to get a seat there. If you are the lucky one, don't give a second thought. You should aim for top NLU, but still if you get the chance to be in any of the NLU, don't drop it. The placements are top notch of NLU's. It is a brad that every corporate firm looks for since the students who pass from these colleges are highly trained and knowledgable. I hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck.
Hello Nishant,
National Law University offers BA LLB integrated course, LLM programmes along with other PhD programmes.
You cannot get admission in LLB course after graduation as a candidate must have passed 10+2 with atleast 50% or it's equivalent from a recognised board.
So you are ineligible as you are graduate. However, you can seek admission in LLM programmes as the eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have atleast 55% in graduation ( general category) and 50% (reserved candidates) in graduation or it's equivalent degree.
You see the detailed admission eligibility criteria for various programmea from the link given below
https://nludelhi.ac.in/adm-llm.aspx
Kindly check the admission section in their official website.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Hello Aspirant,
NLU does not offer three years Law programme. It offers only 5 years Integrated law programme & PG LLM programme.
If you wish to take to take the admission for three years law programme then there are many universities like Faculty of Law Delhi University, Banars Hindu University etc.offer the programme, The admission eligibility varies college to college.
Good Luck!
Hello Aspirant,
NLU admission is through CLAT Entrance Exam. As per the eligibility, You should have a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying degree and SC & ST candidates need 40% marks in 10+2.
The cutoff varies every year of each NLU depending on the various factors such as No. of candidates appeared for the exam, Difficulty level of the exam, Performance of the candidates, etc.
As per 2019 cutoff, The third round Opening rank of NLSIU Bangalore is 58 as General category.
To check the other NLU cutoff to go through with the given below link.

Good Luck!
Dear Sara, even before things move to admission process, for you to be eligible for CLAT, you should have secured a minimum aggregate of 45%. It is 45% for General and OBC Categories and its 40% for Reserved Categories. And unfortunately, the aggregate cannot be rounded off to the nearest digit. You have to earn it rightfully if we may say so. You have to appear for improvement exams to secure the required aggregate. It is tough to sit for improvement exams just for few decimals but unfortunately that is the only way you can be eligible for CLAT and seek admission even if it is a private institution.
Hello,
At the time of the form filling of CLAT, you'll have options in which universities you prefer to take admission, you just need to fill that in the order of preference and this will be among 21 national law universities that takes part in admission through CLAT. However, if you want to take admission in private universities that accept CLAT scores, you have to apply separately for this one.
Now, if you wish to apply for NLU, Delhi then you need to fill a separate form for its entrance exam and that's AILET as NLU, Delhi conducts its own entrance test.Admission to NLU, Delhi is not based on CLAT scores but AILET scores.
Hello Karthik, NLU would be a better choice than Jindal law school because students in NLUs are selected through CLAT which is a very tough test to clear. So, NLU students would be much more smarter than Jindal Law school students because they would be studying in a University in which all of the students would have taken admission through the national level CLAT exam. Jindal Law school might be better than some of the low ranked and new NLUs but overall you should select NLU if you have a choice.
Yes it has all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment. It has everything a class needs. It maintains a good hygiene and cleanliness. The foods are having great taste and are properly cooked.
The classrooms are well furnished and there are ample number of classrooms in all three floors. The library is still in making , so we have to manage with a smaller one which is present in the academic block itself. The sports centre is decent and could have been better. The best thing about the hostels are single occupancy rooms and the food is top notch.
The college comprises of an academic block where you spend most of your time. There you can find the different lecture halls, tutorial rooms, moot court halls, commitee rooms, faculty chambers, seminar halls etc. There 2 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel with single room occupancy. Another girls hostel and the law library is still under construction. There are different sports facilities available on campus. However the scenic beauty of Mahanadi and Kathajodi is the cherry on the cake.
