Hi aspirant,

I am glad that you want to be a part of this institution. There are majorly two modes of admission in BTech program at Sastra University which includes either based upon jee main+ 12th boards score or entirely on board's score. For the candidates applying under board's+ JEE main scores the total score is calculated as (.75*board's percentage+ .25*JEE percentile). Look there is no cutoffs or minimum score criteria required for getting a seat. The admission procedure is completely done on merit basis through a counselling process. The percentage and choices preferences of candidates are collected and then verified before releasing the merit list. If you are among the top candidates aspiring for a specific course and your merit number is above the total number of seats available, you will get it. Your chances are good considering the previous trends and I will suggest you to apply fully on the basis of your performance in the senior secondary examination.

Hello arun kumar

hope you are doing fine and great

With reference to your query , I would like to inform you that sastra university admission crteria considers 75 percent of Boards marks and 25 percent of jee mains . Since you have a very great score in boards ,their is quite good chance to get seat in cse at sastra university

Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing fine.

Yes, You have a chance of getting seat in sastra University. But getting CSE/ECE in thanjavur is bit diificult since there will be lot of applicants applying for it. And there will be lot of students from AP who have good IPE score will be applying for it. You will be getting other branches.

The admission is based on two ways:

Stream 1: JEE main marks + board exam marks (70% seats)

Stream 2: only board exam marks (30% seats)

There is no specific cut off to get a seat in SASTRA University. It depends on the student who scores the highest marks. If you have appeared for JEE Mains then apply under stream 1. If your board exam marks is 90-95% and JEE main marks is between 50-120 then you can get admission under stream 1. For stream 2, your board exam marks should be at least above 85-90% to get a seat and if it is more than 95% you can get a good course.

Hope this is helpful for you.

Thank you.

Dear aspirant, for sastra there is no cutoff and no minimum percentile required. It is based on combined merit of 12th percentage and jee main marks(sastra will calculate like this 12th percentage * 0.75+jee main mark * 0.25). It totally depends on the number of students applied for admission, their marks and number of seats that you will get admission to in sastra or not. There are maximum chances that you will get admission at this percentile and marks.

Total is 165 marks. Out of 165 marks what are your marks based on that they will give the seat. There are 351 CSE seats so you need to get rank under 351 when marks are calculated out of 165. There is no reservation on the basis of caste at SASTRA University. The only reservation you can get is through the local category. However, there is a 'Trichy quota ', a 'Thanjavur quota ', and a 'Tamil Nadu quota'.

Hope, it helps!

Hello Aspirant!!

Admissions in Sastra University is based upon 2 categories.

1st category: 85% of total seats are filled upon by the JEE mains marks and the 12th marks.

2nd category: Remaining 15% of the seats are filled only based upon the marks secured in the 12th grade or PUC or intermediate 2nd year or any other equivalent boards.

You have secured 96.7%, a very good percentage in 12th std. But your JEE percentile is 40, which is quite low.

So, you can claim a seat in category 2 , but only 15% of the seats are filled through it. If luck praises you, you can also get a seat through category 1 also.

There are chances for getting a seat through both the categories.

Dear aspirant, for sastra there is no cutoff and no minimum percentile required. It is based on 12th percentage and JEE main marks(sastra will calculate like this 12th percentage * 0.75+jee main mark * 0.25)

The minimum marks required in 12th varies every year. However, it will be safe if you keep percentage above 92. Total is of 165 marks. Out of 165 marks what are your marks based on that they will give the seat. Your merit will be prepared on the basis of scored obtained out of 165. Therefore, there is no minimum percentile you need. However, you need to score good marks in both (12th AND JEE MAINS). There are 351 CSE seats so you need to get rank under 351 when marks are calculated out of 165. There is no reservation on the basis of caste at SASTRA University. The only reservation you can get is through the local category.
