Course Overview

The Plato, Socrates, and the Birth of Western Philosophy course is being provided and instructed by edX and the Tsinghua University. It has been built to give the learners an in-sight into the origins of the western philosophy.

1: Does edX have an application?

edX is available on an application as well. It is free and candidates can download it from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

2: Can I give my exam through the application?

No, participants cannot give their timed exams or proctored exams through the edX application. They have to visit the website for the same.

3: Will I get course access after the course expires?

In case of audit track, participants have to upgrade or enrol in a future session to get course access while a verified learner is given access to the archived course materials, as long it exists on edX.

4: What if I fail in a course?

If the participants do not score the required grade for a verified certificate, they can enrol again for a future session by paying the verified certificate fee again.

5: Does the course certificate include a letter grade?

The course certificate is provided by edX to the participants upon securing the minimum passing score. It does not provide a letter grade with the certificate.

6: Can I email my pictures for ID verification?

Any pictures that may be emailed will not be accepted as the support team of edX will not be able to see the photos that may be submitted and they cannot manually override the process. 

7: How can I get a refund?

Participants will be given a refund provided they unenroll from the course within the 14 days period. 14 days from the date of purchase or after the course starts.

8: When does the ID verification expire?

Once identity verification is done, it will be valid for a period of one year. Once it expires, participants can submit new photos.

9: Does edX offer hard copies of the certificates?

EdX certificates are provided online through edx.org. It does not provide a physical copy of the certificate by mail or email. Link for the certificate will be given on the dashboard.

10: How will I get a receipt for the fee payment?

Participants will be sent a confirmation email with their billing details. They will be able to view their payment confirmation in their account settings as well.
