Abdul Shahid Mahavidyalaya, Etah: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Abdul Shahid Mahavidyalaya has been affiliated only in 2015 and is a minority privately managed college situated at Etah of the Uttar Pradesh state of India. Located on a small area of 1.04 acres, this Christian co-educational institution remains committed to its call to prepare quality teachers. The college, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), offers two full-time courses: Bachelors in Education B. Ed The Diploma in Elementary Education (D. Ed.) Over all, the college offers education to 131 students and comprises faculty of eight members, thus ensuring that the learning environment is direct in nature for anyone interested in becoming a teacher. It contains a set of amenities that is intended to enrich students’ learning process in educational college. 

In this respect, every efficient library should have available sufficient materials for students in order to create a learnt base for them. The institution also has appreciated the role of technology in current learning and has provided very adequate IT facilities to ensure students are informed on the current technological sense. In addition to the Laboratories the college also boasts of offering departmental practical laboratories in the lessons learnt the students are able to practically demonstrate what they have learnt. Besides conventional academics, Abdul Shahid Mahavidyalaya offers ample provisions for an all- round development through having sports facilities, and a gym to maintain the health of its students. Another facility within the campus is an auditorium to accommodate occasions such as events and seminars in enhancing the facities of the learning institution. A cafeteria is taken to be a recreational area for students whereas learning institutions is equipped with a health centre containing first aid stations for those in need.. As to what the college provides for its visitors, the college maintains a guest house for accommodation as well as a waiting room. 

With regard to courses, Abdul Shahid Mahavidyalaya mainly provides programmes in teacher education. The college currently offers two courses: Two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program and Two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED.) programs. Both courses are full time and each course has been approved to take 100 students making the total number of seats in both courses 200. These courses are elaborated to produce competent and professional teachers so as to transform education institutions into professional career institutions.

This institution follows the admission policy as framed by the State Government, U.T. Administration and the affiliated University. Admission procedure for the B.Ed program is mostly merit basis, by giving consideration to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college may also use other techniques of selecting their employees as may be stated by the existing policy. Prospective students to college are not given a specific admission date, instead they are urged to visit the college official website or even write to admission office for more details on admission dates, time and method. For the moment, therefore, the college does not have any sort of special scholarship program. However, students are advised to seek other oriented outside scholarships that may be available to them. Being on a concentrated mission of nurturing teacher education, Abdul Shahid Mahavidyalaya along with its well-equipped campus facility turns out to be a viable opportunity for the students to build up their career in the education field. This direction of the college along with their NCTE approved courses make them a point of consideration for the fields of teacher training in Uttar Pradesh whereby the college also provides the required environment to study effectively.
