Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya, Allahabad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh was established in the year 2008. It is an affiliated college set up on a compact 2.2 acres of land. The institute is exclusively devoted to the cause of quality education in teaching. Approved by NCTE, the institution is guaranteed to maintain national standards for teacher education. Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya has a total student enrolment of 623 with a faculty strength of 21, providing an ideal learning environment for the aspiring teacher. 

Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya has many facilities aimed at improving the learning processes of its students. The library functions as a knowledge centre in respect of providing materials quite necessary for success in studies. Its auditorium is used for different programmes and seminars, which help in developing the culture of the campus. Departmental laboratories provide practical hands-on experience, an integral part of learning by doing. At the college level, IT infrastructure is built so that the students march with the changing times of the field. Sports facilities are provided to support extracurricular activities, in the process developing physical fitness and team spirit. A cafeteria aids to the dietary requirements of both students and staff. A health centre equipped with first-aid facilities takes care of the well-being of the college community. In addition, it also provided guest rooms for visiting faculties and family members, an example of hospitality to the institution. 

Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya offers two full-time courses in Education aiding to different levels of teacher training. The four-year programme in Bachelor of Education [B.Ed] has an intake capacity of 100 students. This course is designed to prepare students for teaching at the Secondary and Higher Secondary level. The two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, D.El.Ed., is oriented towards the training of teachers for primary education with an intake of 50 students. 

Abhay Balika Mahavidyalaya admits students to its programme based on the state government's policies and the affiliated university's policies. In the case of a B.Ed. programme, admission is made on the basis of merit, with marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination. Other criteria as laid down by the state government or the university may also be used in the selection process. Admission to the D.El.Ed. programme shall be based on merit, which shall be determined by the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.
