The Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, Kolkata came into existence in the year 1960. This affiliated co-educational college located in New Barrackpore, Kolkata, extends on a total land measuring 8.29 acres. The affiliated college has got accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council who bears as a testimony to the Institution’s unrelenting strive for quality education. APC College conducts total students 4600 and faculty 93 split across 35 different courses under seven degree programmes. The gender distribution of its students avail for 1,955 males and 2,503 female students making it have a good gender balance. It offers a plethora of options including Arts, Science, Commerce, at the Graduation as well as the Post Graduation level.

APC College Kolkata has virtually all the facilties for a diverse range of activities that can support the balanced development of the learners. Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics and Biology departments of the institute are facilitated with well equipped laboratories. Equipped library is the storehouse of knowledge, enabling the learners in continuing their search through Texts, Reference Books and with electronic resources. The students are provided with a multi-station gym and sports equipment such as a playground, basketball court and others related to indoor games. The college boasts of an ample sized hall with a capacity of 750 that is used as a centre for all events within the college including college functions as well as cultural activities.

APC College has a very diverse and broad spectrum when it comes to the livelihood in academics. Of the 35 courses offered in this institution, the biggest percentage is foreful-time courses and the two categories of courses are almost equal in number where the first category is for under graduate programmes while the second one is for postgraduate programmes. The courses are 24 of undergraduate and 06 of postgraduate with one-course of BBA self-finance basis.
