Acharya School of Design, Bangalore (ASD) is a self-financed private college and came to existence in 2015 which is recognized by Bengaluru City University. This is a co-educational institution, which was established in Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru; chiefly offering art and design. ASD occupies an area of 120 acres. The institute has a large enrollment of students, 77% of which are outside the state and 3% of them are international students. This proficient faculty is comprised of 16 members and also preserves a reasonable student-to-faculty ratio. ASD’s investment in design education is also reflected in the provision of focused BFA programmes in every area of design.

Acharya School of Design offers the following facilities so as to facilitate better understanding and education of the students. It has well-developed laboratory facilities; designing studio and painting studio, modeling studio, photography studio etc. Students have an opportunity to study using a range number of reference books, journals and electronic sources available at the school library. It also provides state-of-art IT with Wi-Fi facility spread across the campus at its disposal. 

In as far as the physical health of the students is concerned ASD makes available sports fields both indoors and outdoors as well as a fully-fledged gym. There provision of a separate hostel for male and female students makes a provision of comfortable facilities for out station students. Other facilities are a multi cuisine cafeteria, able to provide hygienically prepared meals, a seminar hall for conducting events, and health care facility with an ambulance facility round the clock.

Acharya School of Design has four B.V.A four years full-time programmes in total. These programmes offer numerous specialisations to capture the interest of most students aspiring to be designers. This means the institute averages its student enrolment at 188 and the management works hard to ensure it does not compromise on the class size it offers each of its students. 

Acharya School of Design also relies mostly on the results of candidates’ previous qualifying examination when admitting students. Despite the fact that the name suggests specific entrance exams it appears that the institute would assess your academic history and your creative abilities. ASD offers four specialised BVA programmes: Graphic and Communication Design; Animation and Game Art; Interior and Spatial Design; Product Design. As it was mentioned these programs are aimed to equip the student with a considerable amount of in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the given sphere.
