One of the major education institutes in Amravati is Adarsha Science Jairamdas Bhagchand Arts and Birla Commerce Mahavidyalaya, which was started in 1961 by Dhamangaon Education Society. This Amravati-based co-educational college in Maharashtra has an affiliation with Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. ASJBABCM provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, and Arts and Humanities. The college is NAAC-accredited, has a 3.17-acre campus, 1,696 students, and a faculty of 34 members, hence maintains a good student-teacher ratio.
ASJBABCM is pledged to impart a healthy and ambient learning environment with world-class facilities. There is a well-equipped, spacious 3,289.75 sq. ft. library, which includes a reading area of 1,678 sq. ft. The college is also equipped with the latest in modern computer laboratories: with over 90 advanced PCs, the students have everything up to the minute in technology and software. ASJBABCM understands that complete development benefits students and, therefore, offers facilities that also cover sports amenities such as indoor games in the form of carom and chess, whereas outside activities include games of volleyball, badminton, and kabaddi. The institute also has a gymnasium and provides a cricket pitch to the students with the help of the parent body. The campus also has a boys' hostel of 27 rooms that can accommodate 100 students and a canteen providing various hygienic food items.
Courses ASJBABCM has at its command, in its curriculum, almost every course to suit varied academic interests. At the undergraduate level, the college offers 18 courses such as BA with 240 seats, B.Com with 120 seats, B.Sc with 120 seats, and BCA with 80 seats. The postgraduate programmes include M.Sc in Mathematics, Microbiology and Electronics, and MA in Economics, M.Com, MCM. The college has also affiliation with doctoral programmes in Microbiology, Electronics, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, and Commerce.
