Established in 2001, Aditya University, Surampalem formerly known as Aditya Engineering College, Surampalem (AEC Surampalem). The Aditya University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Aditya University has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of ‘A’. The Aditya University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Aditya University is an affiliated college of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. The total faculty strength at Aditya University is 357.
