The Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions, Sangrur was founded back in the year 2011, it is an affiliated college situated in Mastuana Sahib, Punjab. This is a coeducational college and is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) thus offering quality technical and management courses. Located off the Sangrur-Bhatinda Road along National Highway No.7, the institute provides a good environment in which to learn and develop.

Among the available amenities, Akal Group of Technical and Management Institution has the following: The facilities will improve the student experience. A good library stocked up with many books is useful to students as well as the faculty of the university. It is also importance to note that in this college they have complied with good IT systems so that the students are able to update themselves on the advancement in technologies. Skill based learning through the laboratories of each department and sports, games and outdoor exercise make the whole personality. The campus has hostels for the male and female students that house outstation students to enhance their comfort. The college boasts of a cafeteria to meet the eating needs of the college society while a health center with first aid services meets the health needs of the college students. Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions offers two postgraduate programmes: Post Graduate Programmes- Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). They are both regular programmes with MBA programme taking two years and the MCA programme taking three years. The institute has an approved capacity to admit 60 students per programme and hence the two programmes have an admission capacity of 120 students.. These programmes are intended to provide students with appropriate knowledge and skills which are necessary to solve emerging problems in the spheres of business management and computer applications. The faculty in the institute is very limited, and there are only 16 members of the faculty present in the institute, and this will prove beneficial for the students as a small faculty will be able to provide quality time for students.

The admission process of the Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions is different in every programme. For MBA programme, it has own intake examination common to all; it is the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted at national level.
