Al-Ameen College, Edathala Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College hostel provides accommodation for 100 female students of the College. The daily activities of the hostel are taken care of by the warden while the decisions regarding administrative matters are taken by the Hostel Administrator, who is a regular lady faculty of the college. Well-furnished rooms, a peaceful study area, a spacious dining Hall, a facility for indoor games and Computers with an Internet facility are the main features of the hostel.

The college has a library facility for all students. The library maintains a balanced collection of more than 18,000 books that span various disciplines as well as subscriptions to newspapers and periodicals.

The college has four state-of-the-art computer laboratories with nearly 220 computers. The first laboratory is with 70 computers and the second one is with 60 computers. The third one is basically for browsing and the 4 th laboratory is for M.Sc Physics students. All these laboratories have network server-based
connectivity with a high-end UPS system with better backup time. High-speed internet connectivity is another feature of these laboratories. About thirty percent of the systems have been replaced or brought within one year. They have a core i3 processor. The other systems were replaced or purchased within the last 3 years. All the laboratories have enough peripheral devices like printers, scanners, etc. Another important feature of the computer lab is that they are very well furnished and are air-conditioned. 

The College has a well–structured and spacious auditorium built on 3500 square feet with a seating capacity of 800 students. It is well equipped with all audio-visual aids including Projectors, LCD, and sound systems. The auditorium is designed in such a way that it ensures a perfect view of the main stage irrespective of the seating location of the audience. The stage of the auditorium is a very good platform for the students to showcase their multiple talents in the fields of theatre, drama, dance, and different cultural programs. It provides the right ambiance for presentations and is spacious enough to accommodate large gatherings too. Apart from the cultural programs various other events like Alumni meetings, seminars, invited talks; exhibitions, student council meetings, etc are also been organized here.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has infrastructural facilities to carry out indoor as well as outdoor games. The spacious ground is available for outdoor games such as Football, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, etc. and a recreation room is available for indoor games like – Chess, Caroms, and Table Tennis. The institution has a practice of organizing/participating in Inter-departmental, Inter-Collegiate, and Inter-University tournaments. The fully equipped gymnasium is available on the campus. Facilities available in the gymnasium are adjustable bench presses and dumbbells, chromium plates, barbell rods, and plates. Football stadiums and basketball arenas now must be complemented by practice facilities, and professionally qualified trainers. The facilities for sports, games, and cultural activities are efficiently utilized by students for various events like the Annual Day and Sports Week. The usage for the same is monitored.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

To cater to the traveling needs of the staff and students, a college bus facility is made available. Currently, we have four bus routes and they operate between Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Paravur, and Tripunithura.

The college canteen is a hub for delicious and hygienic dishes which are explored by the students at break sessions for refreshments. Meals, tea, and snacks along with other variety dishes are the major attraction of the canteen. Delicious food is supplied at a concessional rate to the students without any compromise on the quality. Canteens play a significant role in a student’s life as they provide an open platform for debate, argumentative sessions, and loads of fun, cultural, and sports gatherings over all they develop caring and sharing skills among the students and bring them closer.
