The Al-Ameen Dental College at Bijapur was set up in 1991 as an entirely independent centre of dental learning in Karnataka, India. This dental affiliated college approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI) presents various dental courses in its beautiful 12 acres campus. At present, it has an enrolment of 154 students, and 87 members in the faculty to ensure a proper atmosphere for dental education. The institute provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses for Dental Surgery, the BDS programme and the MDS programmes for Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery among others.
The college has a variety of facilities that aims at the promotion of students learning capabilities and general growth. The library, as vital a part of the academic facility, is grouped into two parts; one for undergraduates, the other for postgraduates. It has a stock of 2333 texts and reference books, 244 back-volumes of journals, 39 current journals, and an Internet for Computer. To cater for students accommodation the college offers an accommodation facility in the form of a hostels for both boys and Girls so as to give a comfortable place to live in. This also include standard gymnasium, sport complex, and an adequately furnished auditorium for co-curricular activities as well social events. Food service for student and staff is available from the cafeteria while the health center provides a facility for first aid among the students and staff.
In total, Al-Ameen Dental College conducted three programmes; two of which are at degree level. The proposed BDS program is a full time one and the course is five years in duration at 40 intake capacity. At the postgraduate level, the college offers two Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs. These are Orthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery both requiring 3 years of study and 2 students per each specialisation are admitted each year. Every course offered is a full course and students are trained intensively in line with the course they have taken.

To enter to the BDS program, the students sit for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test commonly known as NEET-UG for short. B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): Al-Ameen Dental College has 40 seats for B.D.S. The admission for this under graduate degree is purely on merit grounds; that is strictly on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG. Five years is the program duration with one year as a compulsory rotatory internship. Applicants should be qualified with higher secondary (10+2) in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and also qualify NEET-UG examination.
