60 MonthsBachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is the duration of 5 years, which include 4 years of curriculum plus 1 year of rotating internship. Offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and approved by Dental Council of India.
1). Candidates who have passed the Second pre-University Examination of the Pre-University Education Board, Karnataka or equivalent examination with English as the core subject and with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects with 50% of marks and above in optional group.
Or
Has passed the two years intermediate or equivalent course that of, with science subjects, viz, Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with English from a recognizes Indian University or Pre-University Intermediate Board.
Or
B.Sc(Part I ) Examination of an Indian University as laid down by the University Grants Commission(UGC).Note: A student who has passed the BSc examination with one or more of the subjects mentioned above would be admitted to the dental course if he/she has passed by remaining subjects of the Medical Group ( Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in the Pre-University / Intermediate examination.
Or
The candidate should have secured not less than 50% of marks on the aggregate of the above subjects in the qualifying or competitive examination conducted on similar lines as the qualifying examination conducted by a competitive body. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribes the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for general candidates. Provided that a candidate for admission to the Dental Course must have obtained not less than 50% of the total marks in English and Science subjects taken together. (i) At the qualifying examination (or at a higher examination are made on basis of marks obtained at these examinations).
Or
(ii) 50% of the total marks in English and Science subjects taken together at the competitive entrance examination where such examination is held for selection. Provided further that in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes,the minimum marks required for admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for General candidates,where the seats reserved for SC / ST students in any states cannot be filled for want of requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum requirements prescribed from the state, such vacant seats may be filled up on All India basis with SC / ST candidates getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass percentage (Approved by the Central Government vide letter No.Z.22025 / 1 / 82 PMS dated 06-11-1982).
2). The candidate who has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st.December of the year of his / her admission to the 1st. BDS course.
3). Candidate must be Muslim by religion.
Admissions in BDS course will be done through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
